Who are We?
Kids of La Porte After School at St. John's Episcopal Church is dedicated to giving children from La Porte Elementary School a safe place to be once the ending bell rings. Currently we have 60 young people for which we provide a healthy snack, help with their homework, and then offer an array of activities for them to participate in. Currently we offer Sign Language, Chess Club, Gardening, Music Appreciation, and Art.
Junior High students that have participated in the program during elementary school often return as volunteers, giving back to the program.
The mission of Kids of La Porte After School Program is to create a sanctuary for children, youth, and adults where they are loved, supported, affirmed, and assisted to grow into God's plan for their lives.
